Career in Massage Therapy
If you have ever considered pursuing a career in massage therapy, you could not have picked a better time than right now. Demand for those with massage therapy training has risen steadily over the past several years. It seems that poor habits, bad posture, overexertion, bad diets, and increased stress are all taking a toll on the American people. Massage therapy coupled with good nutrition, diet, and exercise can help people lead healthier, happier lives. If you have the appropriate training, you will never suffer from lack of work.

A Degree in Massage Therapy Is Essential
Before you can jump right into a career in massage therapy, you'll need to go to school first and earn a degree or certificate. In addition, you'll have to become licensed in your state of residency. So the next step for you is to decide what style of massage therapy you'd like to practice. There is Lomi Lomi, sports massage, Thai massage, Swedish massage, Shiatsu massage, and a host of other different techniques. When investigating schools, make sure that you only research programs that offer training in your preferred style.

Online School or a Campus Program
You also have to decide whether you want to attend an online school or a traditional campus program. While the latter might be able to provide you with better one-on-one instruction, there are some major disadvantages as well. You have to live near the campus in question, and you must adhere to whatever schedule they design. If you're a working professional, perhaps an online school might be a better option if you are serious about pursuing a career in massage therapy.
