Course in Massage Therapy
How successful would you be as a massage therapist? Are you a patient person? Do you have confident hands? Do you enjoy working with people? Do you consider yourself spiritually centered? Are you fairly independent and prefer to work your own hours? If you answered yes to any of questions, perhaps it is worth exploring massage therapy as a career option.

Try Taking a Course in Massage Therapy
One of the easiest ways of catching a glimpse into the training and schooling required for massage therapy is to take an actual course. Most schools will allow you to take a class or two without committing to a full-time degree. You might try taking a massage survey course that will expose you to a variety of techniques and styles. If you enjoy the coursework, you're ready for the next step.

Going for the Actual Degree
In order to practice as a professional masseuse, you must be licensed by your state of residency. And in order to become licensed, you must earn a degree from an accredited massage therapy school. The training that you will receive will prepare you to provide medical treatment and massage therapy to patients recovering from illness or injury.

Is Time or Money a Concern?
If you are working on a tight schedule or tight budget, you might consider exploring the various online degree programs. Online education is a lot more flexible and a lot less expensive than traditional campus programs. So you could conceivably earn a massage therapy degree in a fraction of the time and for fraction of the cost. It's worth exploring at least.
