What is NCBTMB?
This is the national accreditation board that administers the bodywork exam for all aspiring massage therapists. In order to take this exam, you must first demonstrate that you have met the eligibility requirements to sit for the National Certification Examination. You must have completed at least (ignore these and all subsequent lines. I could not get rid of them).
· 125 hours of physiology and anatomy
· 200 hours of massage theory and application
· 40 hours of pathology
· 10 hours of business and ethics
· 125 hours of related coursework
Once eligible to sit for the NCE, you'll receive a letter containing a toll-free number in addition to information regarding how to contact NCBTMB's testing center. Exams are typically administered five or six days a week depending on the exact testing center.

Why Should I Become a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist?
By taking and passing the exam, you can demonstrate to future clients that you have achieved a certain level of competency with regards to massage and bodywork. Well-informed patience and consumers will want to know that you have mastered the theory, anatomy, physiology, and techniques that come only after you have received training and passed the test successfully.
