Never Heard Reflexology? Take a Reflexology Class
Do you believe in the healing power of the sense of touch? No one can argue that certain touching can be pleasing and calming, but can it actually heal? The answer probably lies a lot in your definitely of healing. Statistics say that many illnesses stem from stress. If certain types of touching can reduce stress, then touch definitely has some type of healing effect, although indirectly.

Many Find Back Pain Relief through Reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic treatment based on the sense of touch and a person's nervous system. All people have reflex points in the hands, ears, and feet. When pressure is applied to these areas, a physiological response automatically occurs in the body. This is the nervous system at work. Reflexologists believe that applying pressure to reflex points can relieve pain and stress. Many people with chronic back pain claim that reflexology offers them back pain relief, and a number of cancer patients turn to reflexology to help ease their pain.

If you want to learn more about reflexology, take a reflexology class. You can then decide if you think this type of therapy is valid or not. If after taking a reflexology class you are convinced of the practice's healing capabilities, you may want to look further at helping others through reflexology.

If you work full time and can't afford to attend a reflexology class, you can find reflexology programs offered online. Although hands-on training is generally required to practice the art of reflexology, many do their academic training through distance learning courses.
