Wellness Products for Low Back Pain Relief
Given how popular low back pain is, it should be no surprise that there are countless wellness products on the market claiming to provide immediate low back pain relief. But while many of these wellness products do indeed provide quick fixes, very few of them address the will underlying causes of back pain. If you are a massage therapist and want to help your patients with low back pain relief, it's important to understand how certain habits can be detrimental to a person's overall wellness and being.
Long-Term Low Back Pain Relief
Wellness products such as heat packs, back braces, and topical salves are sometimes great for immediate results. But for long-term low back pain relief, it is necessary to correctly diagnose the problem, which can be anything from bad posture, poor working habits, lack of sleep, malnutrition, lack of exercise, and stress buildup. Then, it is necessary to help your patient address these habits so as to bring about positive lifestyle changes. Simple things like getting eight hours of proper sleep every night can often be more effective than even the most popular wellness products out there.
Massage Therapy and Low Back Pain Relief
It's also important for you to realize that your massage therapy is not an end in and of itself either. A good one hour massage might help alleviate the symptoms of low back pain, but without addressing the underlying causes, it is still only a temporary fix. Fortunately, however, your massage therapy school will provide you with the training and background to address the lifestyle changes that are necessary for comprehensive low back pain relief.
